Describe one job. We'll draw it back to you.

Six questions about a job in your business that takes longer than it should. We'll draw it as a map, mark every place the same details get typed in twice or the work sits waiting, and say what we would change. About three minutes to answer and half a minute to draw.

01

One job is plenty. Quoting, ordering, invoicing, reporting — whatever it is.

02

Write it the way you would explain it to someone new — who does what, and in what order. This is the answer the map is drawn from, so the more you put here, the better it gets.

03
Which of these does it touch?

Tick any that apply.

04

If you're not sure, say so. This is the part we look at hardest.

05

Rough is fine. "Ten a week, one person, about an hour each" is perfect.

06

A wrong figure on a quote, materials turning up late, a customer chased for money they've already paid — whatever it costs you.

07
Where shall we send your map?

We need your name and email address to draw your map. We use them to email you a copy you can keep or forward, and so Steve can pick the conversation up if you get in touch. We won't add you to a mailing list.

Please leave out customer and staff names — the map doesn't need them. Your answers are sent to Microsoft's Azure AI service to draw the map. We keep them, with your name and email, for twelve months so Steve can follow up, and the map itself for 90 days. How we handle it.
